Rudolph Reinhold "Rudy" Kranawetter, 83, of Oak Ridge passed away Thursday, March 6, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born June 12, 1919, at Pocahontas, son of Joseph A. and Pauline M. Wittshieben Kranawetter. He and Marjorie L. Baker were married in 1939. She passed away in 1947. He and Bernetta Sides were married in 1971...

Rudolph Reinhold "Rudy" Kranawetter, 83, of Oak Ridge passed away Thursday, March 6, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 12, 1919, at Pocahontas, son of Joseph A. and Pauline M. Wittshieben Kranawetter. He and Marjorie L. Baker were married in 1939. She passed away in 1947. He and Bernetta Sides were married in 1971.

Rudy farmed near Oak Ridge all his life. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Friedheim.

Loving survivors include his wife; a son, Willard Kranawetter and wife Vivian of Friedheim; a stepson, Gary Sides and wife Pam of St. Charles, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Doris Keethler and husband Ron of St. Peters, Mo., Lori Light and husband Donnie of Perryville; and a brother, Herb Kranawetter of Philadelphia, Pa.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, Lisa May, Becky Unger, Ralph Kranawetter and Beth Anderson; six stepgrandchildren, Scott Sides, Shawn Sides, Mike Keethler, Cherie Nuss, Jessica Light and Ryan Light; six great-grandchildren, Shannon May, Anthony May, Bobby Unger, Dusty Unger, Lexie Anderson, Drew Kranawetter; and three great-stepgrandchildren, Amber Keethler, Maylee Keethler and Clayton Sides.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Bodenschatz; a brother, and three sisters.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and after 12 Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. A prayer service will be held at 7 tonight.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. David M. Burge officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
