ADVANCE -- Ruby Thomas, 87, of Advance died Friday June 6, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 12, 1909, in Zalma, the daughter of Leo and Ida Eaker Slinkard. On Oct. 15, 1927, she married Glen Thomas, and he survives.

She was a homemaker.

She attended the Advance United Methodist Church.

Survivors include, in addition to her husband: two daughters, Dixie Rowe of Malden and Joy Ward of Advance; four sisters, Pollie Matthew of Florida, Mollie Gray of California, DeShea Fronabarger of St. Louis and Imogene Tucker of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Kerle Slinkard of St. Louis, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Five sisters and three brothers preceded her death.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, with the Rev. James Brice officiating. Interment will be in Bollinger County Cemetery in Marble Hill.
