Ruby May Simpson, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 7, 1918, in Cairo, Ill., the daughter of Oliver R. and Minnie M. Milligan Patterson. She was married to Thomas T. Simpson on Sept. 19, 1953, in Corinth, Miss., and he preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1993.
She belonged to the Grand Tower Chapter of the Eastern Star, where she received the Worthy Matron Award.
Survivors include: two sisters, Dorothy Moss of Indianapolis and Mildred Stockham of Cape Girardeau; two nieces, Judy Patterson and Sharon Wickham of Cape Girardeau; a nephew, Richard Stockham of Lancaster, Calif.; and four great-nieces and three great-great-nieces.
Friends may call from 10 a.m.-noon Monday at the Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The funeral will be at noon Monday at the chapel with the Rev. Paul Kabo officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
