MOREHOUSE -- Ruby Rebecca Early, 90, of Morehouse died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston. MOREHOUSE -- Ruby Rebecca Early, 90, of Morehouse died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.

She was born on Oct. 18, 1909, in Obion County, Tenn., daughter of Hugh Ell Gill and Lillie King Gill.

She was a cook, employed over the years at Grayridge School, on a riverboat and at the Heritage House in Sikeston.

She lived at Morehouse for 30 years. She was a member of Zion Methodist Church in Obion County and the Friendship Club of Morehouse.

She and Alva Lester Early were married on Feb. 10, 1933, at Parma. He died on Oct. 2, 1969.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Joe Early of Maryland Heights and Wayne King Early of Risco; a daughter, Martha Sue Bogle of Sikeston; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and three sisters.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Kenneth Kennedy of Stanfield General Baptist Church in Gideon will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
