Ruby D. McCoy, 64, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
One of 12 children, Ruby was born May 27, 1957, in St. Charles, Missouri, to Gerald and Betty Ritchie Coleman.
Ruby was a graduate of Scott City High School. She was an active member of First Pentecostal Church in Cape Girardeau. She worked as a seamstress and a childcare provider. Flower gardening was one of her favorite pastimes. She especially enjoyed caring for her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Loving survivors include a son, Jerad (Alysha) McCoy of Jackson; two grandchildren, Aubree and Jerad Jr.; and 10 siblings, Sharon (Ronnie) Propst of McClure, Illinois; Deborah Yount, Jerry Coleman, Karen (Albert) Blumenberg, Rosemary Coleman, Beth (Kevin) Werner and Wanda Dees of Jackson; Fred Coleman and Garry (Amy) Coleman of Cape Girardeau; and Larry (Shawna) Coleman of Marble Hill, Missouri.
Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marsha Griffin.
A memorial visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The Rev. Nathan Brown will conduct a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.
