SIKESTON, Mo. -- Ruby Pauline Jones, 77, of Crowder, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at DeSoto Baptist Memorial Hospital in Horn Lake, Miss.
She was born Aug. 18, 1926, at Greenfield, Tenn., daughter of the late Ezra and Irene Robinson Cantrell. She and William Jones were married Jan. 11, 1945, at St. Louis. He died April 16, 1995.
Jones spent most of her life in the Sikeston area. She was a member of the Vanduser Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Jones of Sikeston, Jimmy Jones of St. Louis and Billy Jones of Horn Lake; five daughters, Virginia Stanley of Henderson, Ky.; Irene Stovall and Patricia Lingle of Horn Lake, Karen Hutchcraft of Sikeston and Dorothy Eubank of Edmund, Okla.; a brother, L.J. Cantrell of Lincoln, Mich.; a sister, Virginia Dial of Anderson, Ind.; 20 grandchildren; 22 great- grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Cecil Adams will officiate, with burial at Essex Cemetery in Essex, Mo.
