PUXICO, Mo. — Ruby Brant, daughter of the late Ernest Kinder and Clara Shumate Kinder, was born April 14, 1929, in Vanduser, Missouri, and departed this life Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, at Puxico Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 91 years.
On Sept. 9, 1948, she was united in marriage to George "Smokey" Brant in Benton, Missouri. He preceded her in death March 18, 1991.
Mrs. Brant was a former cook for Mingo Job Corp in Puxico and Florsheim Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau, and was a resident of Wappapello, Missouri
Survivors include five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Patti and Vicki Brant; and her loving dog, Sugar.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Ricky Brant, Kenny Brant and Terry Brant; six brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Rennie Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
