RUBY AHNER

Ruby B. Ahner, 69, of Carbondale, Ill., died Thursday, Oct. 31, 1996, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 4, 1927, in Neunert, Ill., daughter of Herman and Frieda Darnstaedt Zerbst. She and Milton Ahner were married Sept. 23, 1949, in Neunert. He died March 30, 1973.

Ahner was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Jacob, Ill., and Carbondale Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a son, Karl Ahner of Jacob; a daughter, Dorothy Behring of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Ralph Zerbst of Murphysboro, Ill.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a stepmother.

Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home in Ava, Ill., from 4-8 p.m. today, and Sunday from 7:30-11:30 a.m., and then at Christ Church after 1 p.m.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Thomas E. Fast officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery at Gorham, Ill.
