PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Ruben V. Wichern, 76, of Perryville died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at Independence Square in Perryville.
He was born July 2, 1927, at Menfro, Mo., son of Henry and Martha Cornehlsen Wichern.
Wichern was a maintenance worker at St. Louis Community College, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include two sisters, Amanda Lacy of St. Petersburg, Fla., Alma Wichern of Perryville; two brothers, Wilbert Wichern of Old Appleton, Mo., and Melvin Wichern of Thompson, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. An American Legion wake will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating. Burial will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Uniontown, Mo., with military graveside service.
