COMMERCE, Mo. -- Roy Lee Knight, 92, of Commerce died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 15, 1921, in Commerce to Roy Price and Rosezenna O'Guinn Knight. He and Isabelle Edmonds were married Oct. 18, 1941, in Benton, Mo. She preceded him in death Jan. 4, 2008.
Roy was a towboat captain with Huffman Towing. He was a member of Commerce Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
He is survived by four sons, Earl Knight of Commerce, Thomas Knight of St. Mary, Mo., Bobby Knight of Benton and Jerry Knight of Commerce; two daughters, Delores Lee and Peggy Kight of Commerce; 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one son, three brothers, four sisters and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Revs. David Thompson and Dan Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery at Commerce.
