GLEN ALLEN -- Roy A. Johnson, 70, of Fredericktown died Sunday, Aug. 23, 1998, at Claru Deville Nursing Home in Fredericktown.
He was born Dec. 6, 1927, in Glen Allen, son of James F. and Bessie Thompson Johnson. He and Lucille R. Cobb were married Dec. 20, 1947.
Johnson retired as a machinist at Marble Hill Hat Factory. He was a charter member and deacon of White Oak Baptist Church in Glen Allen. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda Govreau of Fredericktown; two brothers, Joe and Gene Johnson of Marble Hill; two sisters, Verne and Betty Johnson of Glen Allen; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Barbara Stark and Robert Cheney officiating. Burial will be in Glen Allen Cemetery.
