ORAN, Mo. -- Roy Edward Graviett, 87, of Oran died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at his home.
He was born June 23, 1923, in Lepanto, Ark., son of Orval and Margaret Kanauss Graviett. He and Stella "Suggie" Stubenrauch were married Oct. 4, 1945. She died April 22, 2005.
Roy was a farmer.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Edward and Dickie Graviett of Oran; three daughters, Patricia Wilcox of Clarksville, Tenn., Connie Purvis of Purvis, Miss., Sherri Hackworth of Benton, Mo.; two brothers, Leon Graviett of Morley, Mo., J.O. Graviett of Stockton, Calif.; a sister, Betty D'Angelo of San Jose, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, James Don Graviett; and companion, Edith Maness.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Ed Carter officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, with full military honors.
