Roy English
SIKESTON, Mo. -- Roy Bernard English, 82, of Canalou, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born July 18, 1926, in Canalou, son of N.C. and Velda Hart Allen. He and Louise Davidson were married Aug. 31, 1951, at Piggott, Ark.
English was a retired farmer.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Wayne English of Benson, N.C.; two daughters, Fontaine English of Canalou, Remona Coffee of Benton, Mo.; a brother, George Allen of Rome, Ga.; six sisters, Goldie Ingram and Dorothy Adams of Centre, Ala., Imogene Allen, Mary Justice, Vestene Ross and Peggy Lovelace, all of Rome.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the chapel, with Earl Davidson and Larry Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery.
