ZALMA -- Roy A. Lingle, 83, of Zalma, died Saturday Jan. 4, 1997, at his home.
He was born April 26, 1913, in Zalma, son of Guy and Bet Berrong Lingle. He had retired after working 35 years at the Lingle store in Zalma. He married Geneva Nichols on Jan. 8, 1932, in Arkansas. She died Dec. 5, 1985.
He is survived by three daughters, Betty Giesler of Oak Ridge and Linda Pape and Janice Mayberry, both of Zalma; a sister, Alpha N. Bryant of Zalma; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. Funeral services will be Tuesday at the chapel, with the Revs. Naamon Eaker and Bill Fox officiating. Burial will be in the Berrong Cemetery near Zalma.
