JACKSON -- Roxie McGuire, 84, of Jackson died at the Cape LaCroix Care Center on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1993.
She was born Aug. 29, 1908 at Millersville, the daughter of David R. Statler and Jessie Fulbright Statler.
She is survived by three sisters, Irene Sewing, Jackson, Lillie Matthews and Berdie Gilliland, both of St. Louis; a number of nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
McGuire worked over 40 years at the former International Shoe Company in Jackson. Since 1984, she had been a resident of the Jackson Manor Nursing Home, the Maple Crest Nursing Home and the Cape LaCroix Care Center.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson and was an avid bowler in Jackson. She bowled on leagues and was a traveling tournament bowler.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Henrichs, associate pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
