MOUNDS, Ill. -- Rosie Lee Johnson, 71, of Mounds died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at Fountain Care Facility in Marion, Ill.
She was born Aug. 21, 1930, in Blytheville, Ark., daughter of Orange and Luella Neal Riggen. She married Raymond "Little Son" Johnson, who died in 1983.
Johnson was formerly of Wyatt, Mo. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Villa Ridge, Ill.
Survivors include five sons, Larry and Willie Johnson of Mounds, Elder Raymond Johnson Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, Wilbert Johnson of Columbus, Ohio, Bobby Johnson of Paducah, Ky.; seven daughters, Louise Wade of Chicago Heights, Ill., Doris Cliff of Tulsa, Okla., Lula Johnson, Birdie Johnson, Valerie Wilson and Sharon Gay, all of Columbus, and Margie Williams of Marion.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Riggen of Charleston, Mo., Mable Horton of Haines City, Fla.; a brother, Sam Riggen of Charleston; 22 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and a great-stepgrandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant sons.
Friends may call at Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Charleston, with her son, Elder Johnson, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.
