ROSE SPENCER

CAIRO, Ill. -- Rose Bud Spencer, 89, of Cairo died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, at Day Star Care Center.

She was born May 16, 1911, in Woodlawn, Miss., daughter of LeAnder and Caroline Petty Spencer.

Spencer lived in Mound City, Ill., most of her life. She moved to Cairo in 1997 from Cape Girardeau.

She had been a model for J.E. Hutson Department Store in Detroit, Mich., and had worked at International Shoe Co. and Brown Shoe Co. in St. Louis. She was a member of World Wide Church of God, and Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a sister, Jo Ann Spencer of Cairo.

She was preceded in death by six brothers and eight sisters.

There is no visitation.

Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Carlton Berry will officiate.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
