McCLURE, Ill. -- Rose Laree "Biddle" Smithey, 82, of McClure died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 20, 1920, in McClure, daughter of Earl Carrol and Mary Etta Stephens Randol. She and Robert S. Smithey were married Dec. 23, 1939, at Jackson.
Smithey lived in the McClure area all her life. She was a member of McClure Pentecostal Church and Sunday School teacher many years.
Survivors include her husband; a son, the Rev. Robert Smithey Jr. of Jonesboro, Ill.; five daughters, Alice Skiles of Belleville, Ill., Carolyn Matlock of Granite City, Ill., Sharon Turner of Jackson, Nancy and Donna Smithey of McClure.
Also surviving are four brothers, Richard Randol of Atlanta, Ga., Almos Randol of East Cape Girardeau, Ill., Carrol Randol of Atlanta, the Rev. Doyle Randol of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Genevieve Randol of McClure, Helen Schutzenhofer of Marion, Ill., Naomi Johnson and Ramona Easton of Canton, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Greg Morrison and Robert Smithey Jr. officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
