SIKESTON, Mo. -- Rose N. Rice, 76, of Sikeston died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 9, 1925, in Clarksville, Ark., daughter of Jesse Monroe and Daisy Mooney Pratt. She first married Joe V. Rose. She later married David G. Rice Sept. 5, 1987, in New Buffalo, Mich.
Rice was a ship welder with American Shipbuilding in Lorain, Ohio, during World War II. She also worked in food service at Memorial Hospital in Michigan City, Ind. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Salcedo, Mo.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Glenn Rose of Ripley, Tenn.; a daughter, Barbara Coffman of New Buffalo; a brother, William Pratt of Sikeston; a sister, Anita Payton of Sikeston; a stepbrother, Virble Ross of Amherst, Ohio; a stepsister, Hazel Pratt of Dexter, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, four brothers, and three sisters.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Revs. Dan Marshall and A.J. Wollenburg officiating.
A committal service will be held later at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo.
