SCOTT CITY -- Rosa Caroline Koeberl, 87, of Scott City died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee.
She was born Dec. 29, 1912, at New Wells, daughter of Adolph Richard and Christiana Louise Yahn Thauwald. She and Alfred F. Koeberl were married April 17, 1938.
The Koeberls were custodians at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas 26 years, and she was also a cook at Pocahontas Public School 23 years. She was a member of St. John's Church.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Shirley Brown of Scott City, Velma Hecht of St. Charles; two sisters, Olga Bodenschatz of Shawneetown, Nora Lungwitz of New Wells; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and a grandson.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Church, with the Rev. John Kiehl officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
