JACKSON, Mo. -- Rosa Bertha Doberenz, 81, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 17, 1919, at New Wells, Mo., daughter of Gustave A. and Pauline M. Perr Meyr. She and Helmuth M. Doberenz were married Oct. 15, 1939, at New Wells.
Doberenz moved to Jackson from Shawneetown, Mo. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at New Wells.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Irma Meyer of Wykoff, Minn., Ruth Lacy of Belton, Mo., Wanda Steffens of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Paul Doberenz of Livermore, Calif., Marvin Doberenz of Weatherford, Texas, Ken Doberenz of Jackson; a brother, Gilbert "Gib" Meyr of New Wells; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by nine brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Church, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
