Ronnie Edsel Sims, born Dec. 7, 1943, in Meridian, Mississippi, passed away June 30, 2022, in Denver. Ronnie was a member of the Mississippi Air National Guard and went on to be a skilled welder and mechanic in Caruthersville, Missouri, where he was a co-owner of Pylate's Machine and Welding. Ronnie Edsel Sims, born Dec. 7, 1943, in Meridian, Mississippi, passed away June 30, 2022, in Denver.

Ronnie was a member of the Mississippi Air National Guard and went on to be a skilled welder and mechanic in Caruthersville, Missouri, where he was a co-owner of Pylate's Machine and Welding. Ronnie was blessed with many lifelong friendships in Caruthersville and was a staple to the community.

Survivors include his son, Peyton (Kacie) Sims of Denver; mother, Doris Sims; sisters, Cathy (David) Wright and Patty (Rick) Rickles; brother, Billy Wayne (Becky) Sims; a niece and 3 nephews, all of Meridian.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his son, Stacy Sims, and father, Edsel Sims.

All are welcome to a graveside service that will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cape County Memorial Park, where he will be laid to rest by his son, Stacy.

A Celebration of Life will follow the service at Port Cape in Cape Girardeau.
