Ronald E. Wright, 69, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at his home.
He was born Dec. 20, 1937, in Assumption, Ill., son of Lafe and Ruby Musser Wright. He and Nila Avery were married Nov. 3, 1956, in Washington, Ill.
Ronald attended Washington High School in Washington. He worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. in East Peoria, Ill., 18 years, and was a carpet installer in Illinois 17 years.
He moved to Cape Girardeau from Anna, Ill., in 1991 and worked at Saint Francis Medical Center until his retirement in March 2007.
Ronald was a member of Cape Community Church on Bloomfield Road, and was active in various functions of the church. He had served as an ordained elder in the World Wide Church of God in Cape Girardeau where he had been a member.
Loving survivors include his wife of 50 years, Nila; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Richard Morris of East Peoria, Dawn and Terry Major of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Mindy, Mallory, and Jessica; a brother, Larry (Linda) Wright of Washington: three nephews, Ronald, Scott, Kenny; and a niece, Laura.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeremy Clayton officiating. Interment will follow in Lorimier Cemetery.
