Ronald R. Wilson, 65, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born June 21, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, son of Bert and Alice Mary Burks Wilson. He and Marian Smith were married March 16, 1963, in Hartsville, S.C.
Ron attended Central High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from Sept. 1, 1959, to Aug. 30, 1963.
He was a photojournalist more than 40 years at KFVS12. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, American Legion Post 63, did extensive work on Freedom Corner at Capaha Park and was a volunteer for the Salvation Army.
Survivors include his wife, Marian Wilson of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Connie (Fred) Clote of Wentzville, Mo., Jena Wilson of Cape Girardeau, Amy (Joseph) Rutledge of Washington, Mo.; a brother, Norris (Fran) Wilson of Lees Summit, Mo.; a sister, JoAnn (David) Duncan of Santa Cruz, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Andrew, Keren, Esther, David, Rebekah, Benjamin Clote and Christian Bollinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Norman and Richard Wilson; and two sisters, Rosemary Piraino and Shirley Link.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park with full military rites conducted by Missouri Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League.
Memorials may be made to the Marine Corps League.
