Ronald Inman

Ronald Dean Inman, 54, of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill.

He was born April 12, 1954, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., son of Alvin and Bonnie Lee Spradling Inman. He and Susan Clark Inman were married Sept. 29, 2007, at an intimate backyard ceremony in Cape Girardeau.

Inman received his master's degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.

Throughout his life, he deeply touched the hearts of all who met him. As a nurse practitioner at Benton Comprehensive Family Health Care he exemplified the meaning of commitment, compassion and care for every patient he had the joy of serving. His selfless acts and duty to others became symbols for which his family knew him best. As a husband he provided love and security and as a father he encouraged self-discipline, independence and respect for others. His greatest joys in life were fishing with his son and spending time with his grandchildren and dogs, Rusty, Will, Daisey Mae and Soozy. He will be sadly missed by all those whose lives he's touched.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Chris (Danielle) Inman, Michael (Becky) Inman; a daughter, Deanna Inman; a stepson, Tristan Frayser; four stepdaughters, Laura (Delbert) Murphy, Chelsea (Todd) Williams, Alleigh White and Lindsey Frayser; father, Alvin (Olama) Inman; mother, Bonnie (Guy) Dicks; three grandchildren, Andrew Inman, McKayla Allen, and Claira Williams; aunts and uncles, Gary and Shelby, Norman and Francis, and Nellie and Marcie; a brother, Alvin Inman; a sister, Lana Jackson; his best friend, Vince (Christy) Maurer; numerous cousins, friends and acquaintances.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Luther Rhodes officiating.

Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., with full military rites by the Missouri Honor Team.
