BENTON, Mo. -- Romana Sue Hulshof, 56, of Benton died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born April 26, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Roman John and Marie Elizabeth Duenne Ressel. She and Vincent Hulshof were married June 13, 1964, at Oran, Mo.
She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University. She was a teacher at Guardian Angel Catholic School.
She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and its Parish Council, School Board and Ladies Sodality. She was a member of Scott County Transit Board.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Tom Hulshof of Benton, Patrick Hulshof of St. Charles, Mo., Jim Hulshof of Benton; two daughters, Katie Fennewald of Ballwin, Mo., Laura Hurd of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Herman Joe Ressel of Oran; four sisters, Rita Ressel of Cape Girardeau, Rose Ann Scherer of Benton, Luella Kern of New Hamburg, Mo., Marilyn Barge of Nashville; three grandchildren, John and Clare Fennewald and Anna Hurd.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Madonna Suzanne Hulshof on March 14, 1995.
Friends may call at St. Denis Church from 4-8 p.m. today, and at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton after 8 a.m. Friday. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. today, and Oran Knights of Columbus Council 4311 will conduct a prayer service at 7:45.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Denis Church, with the Rev. Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be in St. Denis Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Denis Catholic School Fund.
