McCLURE, Ill. -- Rollie S. Matlock, 82, of McClure died Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Anna Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Anna, Illinois. McCLURE, Ill. -- Rollie S. Matlock, 82, of McClure died Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Anna Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Anna, Illinois.

He was born Nov. 19, 1931, in Alexander County, Illinois, to Rollie and Gladys Marie Kaufman Matlock. He and Evelyn F. Taylor were married in December 1952 in Paragould, Arkansas.

Rollie was an operating engineer in construction, working out of Union Local 318 in Marion, Illinois. He was a longtime county commissioner in Alexander County. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 111 in Jonesboro, Illinois. He was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn F. Matlock of McClure; two sons, Rollie B. and James K. Matlock of McClure; two daughters, Kiersten Simon of McClure and Denise Leigh Matlock of Memphis, Tennessee; a brother, William H. Matlock of Burfordville; a sister, Alice Matlock Kerr of Bastrop, Texas; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Thursday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be at 11 a.m.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery in McClure.

Memorial contributions may be given to Jonesboro Masonic Lodge 111.
