CHARLESTON -- Roberta Coleman, 69, of Charleston, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1993, at Sikeston Health Care Center. She was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Thompson Bend, daughter of Elliott and Tiny Steward Scott. She and Clarence Coleman were married Feb. 3, 1934. He died Nov. 26, 1957...

CHARLESTON -- Roberta Coleman, 69, of Charleston, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1993, at Sikeston Health Care Center.

She was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Thompson Bend, daughter of Elliott and Tiny Steward Scott. She and Clarence Coleman were married Feb. 3, 1934. He died Nov. 26, 1957.

Coleman was a member of Holy Trinity Church of Deliverance.

Survivors include four sons, Freddie Coleman of Leesburg, Fla., Ozell and Julius Coleman of Chicago, Henry Coleman of Shreveport, La.; two daughters, Shirley Coleman of Chicago, Roberta Jones of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Clarence, Freddie and Robert Scott of Charleston, Jimmie Scott of Marion, Ark.; a sister, Pearl Newson of Chicago; 24 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Church, with James Whitfield officiating. burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at Sparks Funeral Home from 8-9 p.m. Friday.
