ANNA, Ill. -- Roberta Cerny Wiggs, of Lick Creek, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She was 78 years old.
She was born Nov. 13, 1918, at Anna, the daughter of Sylvester and Lona Clutts Cerny. She married Claude Wiggs on Dec. 12, 1934, at Jonesboro. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1989.
She was a member of the Ebenezer Hall Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Lick Creek.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Lou Bradley of Marion, Patsy Dillon of McClure, and Carolyn Hammon of Lick Creek; one son, Claude "Gene" Wiggs of Herrin; two sisters, Gladys Choate of Anna and Eula Beggs of Venedy; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and two brothers.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 5 p.m. today. Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stan Girard officiating. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Hall cemetery.
