Robert G. Wickman, 88, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 3, 1927, in Chicago. He was the son of George and Pearl (Anderson) Wickman.

He and Ruth C. Osher were married June 2, 1951, at Oak Park, Illinois.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and a member of the choir. He enjoyed volunteering in the outpatient surgery area at Saint Francis Medical Center.

Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Southern of Chicago, Debra (Thomas) Milasinovic of Lancaster, New York, and Gail (L. Dean) Short of Jonesboro, Illinois; a sister, Myrna (Arthur) Davenport of Niles, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Dr. Cozumel (Hunter) Pruette of Baltimore, D. Jason (Jade) Short of Anna, Illinois, Zachary Todd (Tiffany) Short of Anna, Michael (Katie) Short-Goss of Alto Pass, Illinois, Thomas R. (Candy) Milasinovic of Depew, New York, Gabe (Sarah) Short-Mead of Dongola, Illinois, and Michelle A. (Fiance, Jonathan Bayerl) Milasinovic of Lancaster; 13 great-grandchildren, Chanel and Louis Short, Emerson, Haynes and Meritt Pruette, Emma Tweedy, Hank and Charlotte Goss, Madyson and Alivia Mead, Violet and Eli Milasinovic, Penelope Short; and a special friend, Dolores Pobst.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, of 61 1/2 years and his parents.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2016, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor John Dehne officiating.

Burial will be at a later date.

Memorials may be given to St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
