Dr. Robert A. Werner, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at his home.
He was born June 23, 1933, in Cape Girardeau to Alvin A. and Frieda C. Werner. He first married Dora May Germain on July 19, 1954. She passed away Jan. 5, 2005. He then married Barbara Ann Aug Morrow on May 12, 2006.
Robert was a chiropractic physician since 1961 and practiced in Cape Girardeau for 35 years, retiring in September 1996.
He graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School and from Lincoln Chiropractic College, Indianapolis. He was a member of the SEMO Chiropractic Association. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau and served on the board of stewards, board of education, was an usher and an elder, a member of the Men's Club and served on many other boards. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Medical Corpsman from 1953 until 1957.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Werner of Cape Girardeau; a son, Randall (Emily) Werner of Houston; a daughter, Tracy (Dr. David Bell) Werner of Phoenix; a stepdaughter, Cindy Bruce of Jackson; a stepson, Jason (Jill) Morrow of Shelbyville, Kentucky; a brother, Ronald Werner of Cape Girardeau; and a half-brother, Ricky Werner of Cape Girardeau.
He also is survived by Randall's children, Jason and Amie, Jason's child, Riley, and Amie's children, Corey and Cayden; Tracy's children, Kyera, Kyler, Kynslee, Kyleia, Kyrlin, Kymbrie, Kyndehl, Kyenne and Kyander; Cindy's children, Ridge, Myra and Truett; and great granddaughter, Raela; and Jason's children, Landon, Maggie and Carson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Loren Boettcher officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran School or to Saint Francis Medical Center Hospice.
