PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Robert L. Welker, 91, of Perryville, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at Perry Oaks Manor in Perryville.

He was born June 25, 1918, at Perryville, the son of Glenton and Bertha Dunker Welker. He and Elba M. Gibbar were married April 19, 1941, at Brewer, Mo. She preceded him on Jan. 23, 2003.

Mr. Welker retired from Anheuser Busch Corporation. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Post #133, V.F.W., Elks, and Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include three sons, Gary (Kay) Welker, of St. Louis, Dennis (Renee') Welker of Colorado, and James (Debra) Welker of Perryville; three daughters, Jean Moll of Maryland Heights, Mo., Kay (Cliff) Weeks of Chesterfield, Mo., and Carol (James) Parkin of Colorado; a sister, Marie Voelker of Perryville; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, Thomas, a sister, two brothers and two grandsons.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. American Legion Service will be at 6:30 p.m. and parish prayers at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday from 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. The Rev. Joe Williams, CM, will officiate with burial at Mount Hope Cemetery with graveside military honors courtesy of the American Legion and the Delta Team.

Memorials are suggested to MDA or charity of choice.

Miller Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
