GORDONVILLE, Mo. -- Robert Warren Turner, 56, of St. Charles, Mo., died Monday, July 15, 2002, at Barnes/Jewish St. Peters Hospital in St. Peters, Mo.
He was born Oct. 21, 1945, in San Bernardino, Calif., son of Chester A. and Edna Steelman Turner. He and Loretta Sadler were married Nov. 21, 1966, at Gordonville.
Mr. Turner served 21 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a master sergeant and transportation coordinator.
Survivors include his wife of St. Charles; his mother, Edna Saunders of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Anne-Marie Turner of Kansas City, Mo., Jeremy and Jessica Norton Turner of St. Charles; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Calvin Fisher of Marble Hill, Mo.
Also surviving are three siblings, Cuma Lett of Ozark, Mo., Harry Saunders of Kasilof, Alaska, Rene Hersh of Phoenix; three grandchildren, Nathan Turner of St. Charles, Senga Turner of Kansas City, Kylie Turner of St. Charles; and his parents-in-law, Leroy Sadler and Viola Sadler of Whitewater, Mo.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Alan and Gary Saunders.
There is no visitation.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville. The Rev. Gary Hoffstetter will officiate. Burial will be private.
Baumann Colonial Chapel in Overland, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
