MARBLE HILL -- Funeral for Robert W. Smith of Marble Hill will be held at 1 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Bill Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time.

Smith, 78, died Thursday, April 22, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 17, 1921, in East St. Louis, Ill., son of Alfred and Theresa Becker Smith. He and Ruby Elmore were married June 27, 1941.

Smith was a retired carpenter. He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses in Advance.

Survivors include his wife; a son Robert Smith of Delta; a daughter, Susan Morgan of Sturdivant; a brother, Alfred Smith of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Virginia Smith of state of Texas; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a grandson.
