Robert Joseph Rellergert, 83, of Glennon, Mo., passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, at the family home.

He was born July 2, 1923, in Apple Creek, son of the late Felix J. and Helen Schrempp Rellergert. He and Marie C. Nenninger were married April 19, 1947, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Glennon.

Robert served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a farmer and worked at International Shoe Factory in Perryville for 23 years. He enjoyed gardening, working hard and winemaking. Robert had been a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Glennon for over 43 years.

Loving survivors include his wife, Marie of Glennon; two daughters, Carol (Tee) Trankler of Jackson and Glenda (Greg) Peters of Marble Hill; four grandsons, Jeff (Kim) Trankler of Cape Girardeau, David (Beverly), Bret and Stacy Peters, all of Marble Hill; two granddaughters, Rhonda (Wayne) Bartels and Jennifer (Josh) Turner, all of Jackson; and four great-grandchildren, Austin and Madelyn Bartels, and Katy and Molly Turner, all of Jackson.

He is also survived by four brothers, Aloysius (Mode) Rellergert of St. Louis, Linus (Mary Ann) Rellergert of Apple Creek, Leo (Mary Ann) Rellergert of Perryville, Charles (Dianne) Rellergert of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Dorothy (Doc) Wibbenmeyer of Apple Creek and Margaret (Tom) Wibbenmeyer of Peoria, Ill.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Winkler and Alberta Buchheit.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Parish Prayers will be at 7 p.m. A family Rosary will be recited Saturday at 8:45 a.m. also at the chapel.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Glennon with the Rev. Bill Huggins officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
