McCLURE, Ill. -- Robert I. Prater, 70, of McClure passed away at 3:44 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 11, 1951, in Cape Girardeau the son of Robert Gene and Barbara Aline Snell Prater. He married Sharon Fisher on Sept. 21, 1974.
Bobby was a member of Spark Ministries and was an avid fisherman. People loved Bobby, and he enjoyed talking with others, young and old.
He retired from Southeast Hospital after 32 years of employment. Previously, he worked for Trojan Powder Plant in Wolf Lake, Illinois, for 15 years.
Besides his wife, Sharon, he is survived by his daughter, Rachel (Steve) Parker; five grandchildren, Hunter, Andrew, Emma, Bentley and Ellie; sister, Linda (David) Stevens; two brothers, Gary and Randy (Sheila) Prater; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Aaron Boyd officiating. Inurnment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes, Illinois.
