Robert C. Pfeiffer, 68, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at his home. He was born Nov. 1, 1936, near Pocahontas, son of the late Erwin W. and Edna Elsa Miesner Pfeiffer. He and Margaret Ann Guth were married April 29, 1962. Bob was baptized, confirmed, and taught Sunday school at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. Robert C. Pfeiffer, 68, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at his home.

He was born Nov. 1, 1936, near Pocahontas, son of the late Erwin W. and Edna Elsa Miesner Pfeiffer. He and Margaret Ann Guth were married April 29, 1962.

Bob was baptized, confirmed, and taught Sunday school at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. He transferred to St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1962, and was formerly an elder and trustee.

He attended elementary school in Pocahontas, and graduated from Jackson High School in 1955. He served in the former 1140th National Guard Infantry Division in Jackson.

Bob worked with his father in the dairy business before starting Pfeiffer Repair Service in 1976, and continued until his recent failing health.

Loving survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Jo Pfeiffer of Pocahontas; a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Dan Spiegel of Charlotte, N.C.; a granddaughter, Melinda Louise Pfeiffer of Pocahontas; a brother, Cletus R. Pfeiffer and wife Jan of Rochester, Minn.; and a sister-in-law, Donna Pfeiffer of Columbia, Mo.

Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Mabel Guth of Jackson; father-in-law, Vernon Guth and wife Jacque of Festus, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Laverne Krauss and husband Jerry of Perryville, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Richard Guth and wife Anita of Nashville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin E. Pfeiffer, in 1992; and a great-niece.

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
