Robert Payne

Robert Lee "Robbie" Payne, 65, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, July 2, 2022, at his home.

He was born Jan. 19, 1957, in Cape Girardeau to Robert Luckey and Amanda Elizabeth Payne.

He worked as a plumber's assistant and a cook for many years.

Survivors include one brother, Chris Payne of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Maybelle Whitby of Little Rock, Arkansas; Doris Harris of St. Louis; and Joyce (Norman) Farrar of Atlanta, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, J.C. and Ivory Betts, Harold Gene and Terry Payne; and three sisters, Betty Davis, Emermaline Jenkins and baby sister, Imogene Payne.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon July 16 at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home with the Rev. Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to assist the family with funeral expenses.
