HOWARDVILLE -- Robert Matthew Thomas "R.T." Pride, 49, of Malden, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1993, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
He was born Sept. 22, 1943, at Catron, son of Joe and Birdie White Pride.
Pride was organist for the Family Echoes singing group. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; two sons, Robert Pride of Ft. Campbell, Ky., Christopher Pride of Denver, Colo.; four daughters, Corinza, Wanda and Kristie Pride of Denver, Annie Pride of Los Angeles, Calif.; four sisters, Clemon Duff of Howardville, Faye Taylor of Lilbourn, Zelma Winston of St. Louis, Ruby McDonald of Denver; a brother, Joe Pride of Catron, and six grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at True Holiness Church of God in Christ Fellowship at Lilbourn, with Pastor Nathaniel Green officiating. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery at New Madrid.
Friends may call at Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home at Howardville from 7-9 p.m. today.
