TAMMS, Ill. — Robert McCrite, 47, of Tamms died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at his home. He was born Sept. 26, 1961, in Cairo, Ill., to Farrell and Ellen Lucille Smith McCrite. Robert is survived by two daughters, Robin McCrite of Olive Branch, Ill., Karrie McCrite (Byron Delp) of Alton, Ill.; two brothers, Farrell McCrite of Olive Branch, Jimmy McCrite of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Beverly (Brad) Reed of Mexico, Mo.; a sister-in-law, JoAnn McCrite of Cape Girardeau; a brother-in-law, Paul Grace of Charleston, Mo.; three grandchildren, Michalea and Vincent Ruyle, Devon McBride; and former wife, Kathleen Lacy of Alton.. ...

He was born Sept. 26, 1961, in Cairo, Ill., to Farrell and Ellen Lucille Smith McCrite.

Robert is survived by two daughters, Robin McCrite of Olive Branch, Ill., Karrie McCrite (Byron Delp) of Alton, Ill.; two brothers, Farrell McCrite of Olive Branch, Jimmy McCrite of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Beverly (Brad) Reed of Mexico, Mo.; a sister-in-law, JoAnn McCrite of Cape Girardeau; a brother-in-law, Paul Grace of Charleston, Mo.; three grandchildren, Michalea and Vincent Ruyle, Devon McBride; and former wife, Kathleen Lacy of Alton.

Also surviving are 11 nieces, Nicole Reed, Roslyn, Tammy, Kayla, Kyleah and Stephanie McCrite, Paula Sanders, Chrissy Grace, Sara and Ellen Kallaher, and Kayteuna Thomas; 11 nephews, William and David McCrite, Phillip Reed, Paul "Porky" and Shane Grace, Keif and KwameMane Thomas, Denny Jones, Cody Sanders, James Kallaher and Cody Cashmore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Elvis McCrite; and five sisters, Wanda Grace, Bobbie, Judy, Sandra Kay and Lois McCrite.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to time of service today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.

The funeral will be at noon today at the funeral home, with Mark Kirk officiating.

Memorials may be made to the family of Robert McCrite and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
