MARION, Ill. -- Robert William "Bob" Marshall, 53, of Marion died Saturday, July 9, 2005, at his home.
He was born May 8, 1952, in Oakland, Calif., son of Charles Robert and Jean Porter Marshall. He and Necie Cooper were married July 23, 1980, in New Madrid, Mo.
Bob was a graduate of East Prairie High School in East Prairie, Mo., and the University of Missouri-Columbia where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity.
He was an agriculture seed salesman, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. He was a coach for the Marion Youth Baseball Association.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jonathan and Kyle Marshall of the home; a daughter, Shonna Slaughter of East Prairie; his parents of East Prairie; a brother, Steve Marshall of Marietta, Ga.; a sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Steve Glenn of Scott City; a half brother, Jack Jewell of Redwood City, Calif.; three brothers-in-law and spouses, Jim and Helen Cooper of Geneva, Ill., William C. "Buddy" and Toni Cooper of Portageville, Mo., Andy and Abbie Cooper of Sikeston, Mo.; a sister-in-law and husband, Rita and Marty Jackson of New Madrid.
The funeral was held July 12 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Madrid. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid was in charge of arrangements.
