Robert Allen Mancillas, 46, of Oak Ridge, formerly of Scott City, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, at his home. He was born Feb. 3, 1974, at Rochelle, Illinois, to Rebecca Mancillas.
He worked in construction and was a member of Heritage Apostolic Church in Glen Allen, Missouri.
He is survived by his mother, Becky (Paul) Westrich of Jackson; a daughter, Taylor Mancillas of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Jessica (Jason) Mayfield of Jackson; maternal grandfather, Raymond Mancillas of Marshalltown, Iowa; three nieces, Kaylynn (Calen) Crites, Bayley James and Maggie James; and a nephew, Jesse James.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Amy Mancillas.
Robert Allen Mancillas was a friend to all and never met a stranger. No matter how long it had been since you last saw him, he picked up a conversation like it was yesterday. The bond that Robert had with his mother, Rebecca, and sister, Jessica, was like no other. He loved them with everything he had, and their support never failed. They were always there to pick him up when needed.
His greatest talent was to love you and make you mad at the same time. No filter or volume control was present when he was around. His pride and joy was his daughter, Taylor. He loved watching her mature and was so excited to know she graduated high school early. He could not wait to see her off to college. He talked highly of what accomplishments she was going to make in life.
Robert was proud to be an uncle and was always causing trouble with his nieces and nephews.
He was recently employed with Dowd Construction. He loved working with tools and building projects. He was a great handyman and was always willing to help a friend.
Robert recently gave his life to Christ. He was a new man and had a new look on the future. He will be deeply loved and missed.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the chapel with the Rev. Ivan Dowd officiating.
