Robert Laux Sr.

ORAN, Mo. -- Robert J. "Bob" Laux Sr., 76, of Auxvasse, Mo., passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013.

He was born Aug. 28, 1937, in Oran, to Joseph Albert Laux and Teresa Louise Stubenrauch. He was united in marriage to Shirley Hendricks on Nov. 29, 1958.

Bob grew up on the farm and made farming his life's work and passion. He also enjoyed water skiing and dancing.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Auxvasse; three children, Vicky (Paul) Brown of Kingdom City, Mo., Robert J. Laux Jr. of Auxvasse and Michelle (Mark) Heater of Columbia, Mo.; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Nate) Storm, Brandy Heater, Kyle Brown, Robert B. Laux and Cody Heater; a stepgranddaughter, Michelle Brown; five great-grandchildren, Shelton Brown, Taylor Brown, Mackenzie Storm, Levi Roberts, Ryleigh Storm and one more on the way; and a niece, Jeanne Freshour.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother and a sister.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
