Robert "Bob" Gee, 81, of Portageville, Mo., died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 3, 1925, in Parma, Mo., son of Solon T. and Pauline Meek Gee. He and Irene Schomaker were married Nov. 25, 1950, in Marion, Ill.
Gee farmed in the Frailey, Mo., area for 36 years. He was a merchant seaman during World War II and later served in the United States Army Tank Corp attached to the 88th Division in Italy.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Gee of Portageville; one daughter, Cynthia Wine and husband, Jim, of Jackson; one son, Robert W. Gee and wife, Emily, of Portageville; one sister, Kathlyn Crouch of Richmond, Ind.; three grandchildren, Erin Jeffries and husband, Michael, of Portageville, Andy Wine and wife, Angela, of Jackson and Sara Petrovich of Nixa, Mo.; and one great-grandson, Connor Jeffries of Portageville.
He was preceded in death by one sister, three brothers and one grandson-in-law.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at United Methodist Church in Portageville with the Revs. Ron Dunavin and Leland Butler officiating. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Mo.
DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville was in charge of arrangements.
