ROBERT FURLOW

COBDEN, Ill. -- Robert L. Furlow, 72, of Cobden died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 26, 1927, in Union County, the son of Earl and Ethel Shingleton Furlow. He married Martha A. Adams March 1, 1947, in Piggott, Ark. She survives.

He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Cobden and Labor Local 227 in Carbondale.

He also is survived by five daughters, Sharon Keller of Dixon, Roberta Michaels of Cobden, Brenda Roach and Barbara Dailey, both of Anna, and Donna Prowell of Ava; a son, Robert L. Furlow Jr. of Jonesboro; a brother, Raymond Furlow of Cobden; two sisters, Dorothy Holder of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ruth Aldridge of Johnston City; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, a brother and a great-grandchild.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James E. "Gene" Hart officiating.

Burial will be at the Alto Pass Cemetery.
