Robert Ray Forsythe, 79, of Scott City died Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 6, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Robert E. Lee and Anna Marie Ward Forsythe.
Robert and Bettie Katherine Gould were married June 1, 1969, at Nevada, Missouri.
He was of the General Baptist faith.
He retired from United Parcel Service after 31 years.
He served in the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie K. Forsythe of Scott City; a daughter, Natalie D. (Tony) Mays of Cape Girardeau; a son, David W. (Julie) Forsythe of St. Charles; one sister, Sharon K. Marchbank of Kansas City, Missouri; and four grandchildren, Kelsey N. Mays, Chloe N. Mays, Emily M. Forsythe and Ethan M. Forsythe.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 10, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Frank Winfree officiating.
Burial will be at Garden of Memories in Sikeston.
