Robert Louis Feldmeier, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, July 27, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Gir­ardeau. He was born Sept. 12, 1911, in Valmeyer, Ill., son of Samuel H. and Wilhelmine Koenigsmark Feldmeier. He and Clara Goeddel were married on Nov. 11, 1939, in Waterloo, Ill. She died April 22, 2007...

Robert Louis Feldmeier, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, July 27, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Gir­ardeau.

He was born Sept. 12, 1911, in Valmeyer, Ill., son of Samuel H. and Wilhelmine Koenigsmark Feldmeier. He and Clara Goeddel were married on Nov. 11, 1939, in Waterloo, Ill. She died April 22, 2007.

Feldmeier was a graduate of Waterloo High School and attended the University of Illinois at Champaign, Ill.

He was in the Army from 1943 to 1946, served during World War II and held the rank of sergeant. Feldmeier moved to Cape Girardeau from Waterloo, Ill., in 1952.

He was a seed salesman for Funks G Hybrids. He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, the church's Men's Brotherhood, American Legion Post 63 and VFW Post 3838.

Survivors include a son, James R. Feldmeier of Portageville, Mo.; a daughter, Jane F. Harte (Tom) of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Thomas Harte Jr. (Leah Fulton) of Los Angeles, Jill Gaither (Brett) of St. Louis; and one great-granddaughter, Chloe Gaither.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dan Johnson officiating.

A graveside committal with military honors will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo, Ill.

Memorials may be made to Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation or Evangelical United Church of Christ.
