HAYTI -- Robert Ray Boone, 67, of Hayti died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998, when his single-engine airplane crashed in a field near Hayti.
He was born Feb. 1, 1931, at Hayti, son of Francis Albert and Beulah Mae Hughes Boone.
Boone served 20 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as chief petty officer.
Survivors include a son, Robert Boone of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Lizabeth Dunn of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Doyle "Peck" Boone of Portageville; two sisters, Gwendlyn McGarrity of Dexter, Phyllis Walton of Farmington; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ed Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Portageville Cemetery.
