Robert Allen

A memorial service for Robert Howard Allen of Cape Girardeau will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Hogue will officiate.

There is no visitation.

Allen, 80, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Feb. 23, 1921, in Cherry Valley, Ark., son of Louis and Ruby Ann Brinkley Allen. He and Ruby Cracraft were married Dec. 8, 1992, at Chaffee, Mo. She died Nov. 5, 2001.

Allen had been a riverboat pilot. He was a member of the Lions Club in Altenburg, Mo., and was a Mason.

Survivors include a son, Robert Gerard Allen of Imperial, Miss.; a daughter, Rushelle Novosel of Walshville, Ill.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
