HERRIN, Ill. -- Robert E. Adams, 73, of Kimberling City, Mo., died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at Skaggs Community Health Center in Branson, Mo.
He was born Sept. 3, 1926, in Herrin, son of Glen C. and Gilla K. Reiker Adams. He married K. JoAnne Adams, who preceded him in death.
Adams was a music teacher in St. Louis area schools more than 30 years. He was a charter member and past commander of American Legion Post 637 in Kimberling City.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Adams of Pensacola, Fla., David Adams of Dallas, Texas, Ian Adams of Fort Campbell, Ky.; a daughter, Patricia Browning of Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Lady of the Cove Catholic Church in Kimberling City from 4-6 p.m. Friday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. John Brath officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
